What This Product Is
Zirconia-alumina abrasive grinding belt for coarse grinding of harder materials. Zirconia-alumina is tougher and longer-lasting than standard silicon carbide on hard, high-removal work, so these belts hold up under aggressive coarse grinding.
Intended Use in Metallography
Used for coarse planar grinding of harder materials, after sectioning. Selected when:
- Grinding hard or wear-resistant materials that dull SiC quickly
- Fast, aggressive initial material removal is required
- Belt life and toughness matter for the workload
Typical Applications
- Hardened steels and wear-resistant materials
- Coarse initial grinding of tough specimens
Beyond metallography, zirconia grinding belts are also used in:

- For fine grinding or finishing (use finer SiC papers or discs)
