Silicon carbide grinding paper in continuous roll form, for hand grinding and for cutting to length. The roll format lets a lab tear off exactly what it needs and is economical for high-volume grinding. Silicon carbide's hardness and sharp cut make it the standard abrasive for planar and fine grinding across a wide range of materials.
Intended Use in Metallography
Used during planar and fine grinding, after sectioning, to flatten specimens and remove sectioning damage before polishing. Selected when:
- Hand grinding at a bench or sink is the method
- A continuous roll is more economical than discs for the volume
- A specific length or strip is cut to fit the setup
